Merry Christmas Everyone!! Hope everyone has a safe and joyous Holiday Season.
As some of you may have heard, we are experiencing some technical difficulties. Prince Rupert has stopped accepting our recyclables for the time being. We are stockpiling them for now. The Stock Market has really affected the recycling industry. We will continue to collect the recycling it will be business as usual. We will continue until KUTE stops accepting our recycling. I don’t know if that will happen anytime soon or not. If KUTE stops taking our recycling we may have to stop taking yours. If we can rent a warehouse we could stockpile until the markets pick back up again. However, we are having difficulties finding someone to rent us warehouse space. So, if anyone knows who has space to rent to us please let us know.
With all the uncertainty we are unable to offer the pay for a year. If you want we will do 3 months prepayment at a time. We will be operating month by month even maybe week by week. If things do not go well, we may have to shut down for awhile. We are asking you to hang onto your totes and keep recycling. You may have to stockpile for awhile until things pick back up again. We will keep you all informed with what is going on.
With Christmas among us just a few reminders:
- All wrapping paper free of tags, ribbons and bows (ribbons and bows are unacceptable)
- All boxes flattened and free of plastic packaging (all plastic packaging is unacceptable)
- Please keep in mind anything over the 2 totes will be an extra $5 charge
Please keep in mind the following items are unacceptable:
- NO PLASTIC LIDS
- NO BRITTLE PLASTICS (CLAMSHELLS, SLUSHIE CUPS, ETC.)
- NO PLASTIC HANGERS
- NO STYROFOAM OF ANY KIND
- NO PLASTIC PACKAGING FROM TOYS
- NO BAGS WITH SILVER LINING (CHIP BAGS)
- NO SOUP TETRA CONTAINERS
We are finding a lot of these items in the totes, please keep in mind that this stuff does not get recycled and we throw it away. Unacceptable items take up valuable space in your totes. We are also asking if you could please remove labels from cans and flatten cans.
RECYCLING TIPS:
- Frozen juice containers must be clean, top and bottom to be removed.
- Please make sure all food wrappers are clean and free of food.
- Please contain all shredded paper in a bag (please have only shredded paper in the bag with no other paper) inside your tote.
- Recycling must be clean and dry. If it isn’t, its garbage (wet stuff gets the paper and cardboard wet).
