FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHY DO YOU USE TOTES INSTEAD OF RECYCLE BINS OR PLASTIC BAGS?
We use totes because:
1) it has a lid, once paper and cardboard get wet, its garbage. Everything needs to be dry
2) it's reuseable. Not only do we need to recycle we also need to reduce and reuse.

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE BRITTLE PLASTIC EVEN IF IT HAS A RECYCLE SYMBOL?
We don't take the brittle plastics (berry containers, salad mix, etc.) because Prince Rupert compacts everything that they send out and the brittle plastics do not compact, it "shatters". The small pieces from the plastic get all over and get into the mechanisms of their compacter and usually jams the machine.

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE PLASTIC LIDS EVEN IF IT HAS A RECYCLE SYMBOL?
No lids because they also don't compact. They end up falling out and making a mess. They don't have any way to properly ship the lids.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A PICKUP?
You can put out double on your next pickup. Call to make alternate arragements.
